Local Food Basket

Costs:  $25 per box (small=1 veg lover -2 people supplemental), $35/box (large= veg loving couple or small family supplemental) or $450/$630 per season.  Payment either up front or in split payments each (Postdated cheques required) As well; “Giving Back” basket shares are also available at $540/$746 for the full season.  For these, the buyer receives a full share with the premium going to help support free and lower cost shares for recipients in at-risk or food insecure positions in our communities.

More Information:
Customers will receive a weekly basket of mixed seasonal locally grown produce from a variety of area farms; (we emphasize emerging farmers for this program to support the growth of new farms and small businesses) items will include staples such as carrots, onions and potatoes, storage crops from our root cellars and greenhouse products in the early baskets, fruits, herbs, greens, tomatoes and other products in season as well as occasionally unusual and fun variety products (recipes included.) All items are labeled with the farm name and more information about each producer can be found on our online marketplace, including growing practices.  Other items (meats, eggs, dairy, prepared foods and more…) may be purchased through the online marketplace on a pay as you go basis and delivered with the basket with no delivery fee!  Baskets will be likely be delivered weekly to depots in Smiths Falls, Merrickville, Perth, Carleton Place, Kanata, Ottawa South and Kemptville.  Depot days and times will be weekday evenings and/or weekend days, exact days, times and locations will be determined by customer demand (let us know!) and confirmed by May 1, 2017.

Bluegrass Farm Winter CSA

Bluegrass Farm is a certified organic vegetable farm outside of Smiths Falls. Our innovative heated greenhouses allow us to grow greens year-round.  We offer a unique winter CSA with 10 biweekly deliveries from October through March. Each basket combines carefully preserved root crops with fresh salad and greens from the greenhouses. CSA shares can be picked up in Perth, at our farm, or at several Ottawa locations. This winter’s CSA sold out quickly, but you can get first dibs on next winter’s shares!

Miller’s Bay Farm is a 4th generation family farm that is home to the “Bountiful Basket” Program, now gearing up for its fourth season. Our weekly baskets contain conventionally, sustainably grown produce only — and everything we sell is produced right here at the farm. The 15-week program runs from late June through Thanksgiving, with pick-up options in Perth, Smiths Falls and at the farm. Program registration will begin in late February. CSA runs for 19 weeks from June to October. Pick up at the farm on Mondays, delivery to Ottawa on Thursdays.  Small and large shares available.  Also selling seasonal vegetables, honey, maple syrup, grass fed beef, goat meat (chevon), meat chickens, eggs. Fall CSA starts Oct to December.

Seanic Farms offers a large variety of vegetables grown without the use of chemicals. Weekly basket pick-up at farm gate starting June until Oct. (18 weeks). Full or half shares available. Grass-fed Highland beef raised without the use of hormones or antibiotics is available by the side,  quarter or individual cuts.

Stony Brae Farm has beautiful ecologically grown vegetables and fruit.  We offer full season (32 weeks) and half season (16 weeks) harvest boxes.  These are available in full share (family) and half share (single or couple) sizes.  Pick up or delivery in the Perth area.


Root Radical CSA

24 weeks (June to November) of seasonal organic vegetables to CSA members in Kingston and Howe Island. We grow about 40 different crops and our signature crops are diverse greens, cherry tomatoes, carrots, green beans and snap peas. We offer weekly (full share) or every second week pick up (half share) at the farm and at several locations in Kingston (downtown and in the east and west ends of Kingston). 2016 prices are $600 for full share and $348 for half shares.
Organic beef, garden plants and eggs are also available from our family farm and for 3 weeks in July and August 2016, we will host Rad Kids Farm Camp.

Our Certified Organic Whole Farm CSA includes woodland pork, pastured chicken & ducks, eggs, grass-fed beef & lamb, cheese, vegetables, herbs, some fruits, honey, maple syrup, herbal skin care, and some basic dry goods.
Everything we grow on our family farm is certified organic. We do not use soybeans in any of our livestock rations, and where ever possible, we grow our own animal feeds. Most of our livestock and seed varieties are heritage or heirlooms, many specific to the area.
Farm pick-up as well as 5 delivery locations in Ottawa from Kanata to Gloucester 50 weeks of the year.
